Food and Nutrition Services

The Food and Nutrition Services department provides food service for hospital in-patients, employees, and visitors. In addition, the staff of clinical dietitians performs extensive clinical nutrition services.

Clinical nutrition services include the following: assessment and care-planning for critically ill patients, instructing in-patients on diet modification, and recommending formulas for patients who require tube feeding. Registered, licensed dietitians are also involved in providing total parenteral nutrition, an intravenous method of feeding patients high levels of nutrients. Out-patient nutrition counseling will soon be available to the Weiss community.

Meal service for hospital in-patients begins with breakfast at 7:00 a.m., lunch at 11:30 a.m., and dinner at 5:00 p.m. Between meal services are available by request.

Cafeteria

The hospital cafeteria provides meal service to employees and visitors. The hours of service are as follows:

  • Breakfast: 6:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m., seven days a week
  • Hot Lunch: 11:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m., seven days a week
  • Cold Lunch/Snacks: 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday
  • Dinner: 4:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m., Monday through Friday
