Vascular ProgramThe Vascular program at Weiss is a unique concept in stroke prevention and the diagnosis and treatment of blocked arteries.   Dedicated to providing patients with state-of-the-art diagnosis and management of arterial and venous disorders, our board-certified vascular specialists include both University of Chicago vascular surgeons, along with independent practitioners.

Our vascular program manages the full spectrum of peripheral arterial disorders, including carotid and aortic arch occlusive disease, aortic aneurysms, renal, mesenteric, and lower extremity arterial blockage. Treatment modalities include medical therapy, minimally invasive catheter-based interventions (angioplasty, stenting, stent grafting for aneurysms, clot dissolution) in addition to conventional operative procedures. Cutting-edge, FDA-approved devices are available for appropriate cases.  Extensive experience and in-depth expertise provides the best therapeutic modalities for our patients.  This multidisciplinary approach to treating arterial disorders by a specialized team has greatly improved patient outcomes and satisfaction.

In addition, Weiss’ Vascular Center houses one of the Midwest’s few Non-Invasive Vascular Labs accredited by the Intersocietal Commission for Accreditation of Vascular Laboratories, attesting to the high quality control benchmarks adopted in design of vascular testing protocols for carotid, arterial and venous diseases. Staffed with a highly experienced team of vascular specialists, this lab employs state-of-the-art, non-invasive ultrasound technology to accurately diagnose disorders affecting arteries and veins. Some of the many tests available in this lab include advanced diagnostic procedures that use arterial and venous duplex ultrasound and color-flow Doppler as well as conventional arterial waveforms and pressures to evaluate arterial and venous diseases.

Our focus is on providing our patients with the most minimally invasive diagnosis and treatment of vascular disease.

Find out if you’re at risk for a stroke, aneurysm or peripheral vascular disease with a three-point vascular screening at the Vascular Center at Weiss.  The screening costs only $99 and takes 30 minutes.  For more information on the next screening date, please call 773.564.5770.
