 Weiss Memorial Hospital is pleased to provide wheelchair-accessible transportation for patients — within designated boundaries — who don’t have other means of transportation to and from Weiss Hospital and our satellite locations for tests, treatments and doctor’s office appointments.
Hours of Operation
The Weiss Courtesy Van is available Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. The first appointment of the day is 8:00 a.m. Trips must leave Weiss facilities no later than 3:30 p.m.
Affordable Rates
Cost to ride the Weiss Courtesy Van is nominal at $2.00 per trip. Patients are asked to pay the driver in cash as they board the van.

North: Howard Avenue
South: North Avenue
East: Lake Michigan
West: Pulaski Avenue/Kennedy Expressway
* Service boundaries may expand, if the need exists.
Criteria for Patient Eligibility
- Patients must be ambulatory, or if wheelchair bound, they must be wheelchair independent
- Patients who are oxygen dependent may ride if they are able to self administer their own oxygen, and if their units can be strapped or tied to ensure passenger safety
- Minors must have a written, formal parental consent on file prior to taking their first ride
- Infants and toddlers must be strapped into an infant/child restraint seat
