The Heart Program at Weiss Memorial Hospital strongly reflects a commitment to the advanced care of heart disease by providing a full range of non-invasive, invasive and emergency services.
At Weiss, board-certified cardiologists provide advanced heart care in a sophisticated and compassionate environment.
Non-invasive services offered at Weiss include:
-
The latest stress testing modalities such as exercise, Dobutamine, Persantine, echocardiography, and nuclear imaging.
-
A pacemaker and AICD clinic.
-
A comprehensive Cardiac Rehabilitation program with risk factor assessment and modification.
-
A Wellness program that includes fitness testing, nutrition counseling, and an individualized exercise program while working one-on-one with an exercise physiologist.
-
Free monthly blood pressure screenings.
Invasive interventional services offer patients all the newest endovascular modes of treatment including coronary angioplasty, atherectomy and stenting and permanent pacemaker placement.
Approximately 50 percent of all coronary angiograms are done as outpatient procedures. Weiss interventional cardiologists use closure devices that allow patients to walk around two to three hours following their studies.
The cardiac catheter laboratory provides 24-hour emergency service and an established direct angioplasty service for acute myocardial infarction. Moreover, excellent cardiac surgeons are present at Weiss to provide on-site surgical backup during angioplasty or elective coronary bypass surgery.
