Weiss Memorial Hospital’s Cardiac Program is making new strides every day in its race to provide patients with the most advanced non-invasive, invasive and emergency cardiac care.

Weiss’ cardiac team is made up of experienced, board-certified cardiologists and cardiac surgeons who are well trained in many innovative surgical procedures, and who have an impressive record of outstanding cardiac surgical outcomes. 

Weiss’ Cardiac Program offers a dedicated cardiac (telemetry) unit that compliments our new 16-bed Intensive Cardiac Care Unit.  This telemetry unit provides a full spectrum of cardiac care services.  Telemetry is a sophisticated, non-invasive method to monitor the heart’s rhythm and electrical activity.  The telemetry unit provides 24-hour monitoring of the heart’s activity to help identify changes and possible cardiac events.
 
Our state-of-the-art Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory facilitates more effective angioplasty methods for acute myocardial infarction and provides 24-hour emergency service.  A Cardiovascular Imaging System, the world’s first all digital cardiovascular imaging system provides cardiologists with more information by improving image quality for a better view of vessels as well as stents, guidewires and catheters; reducing radiation (as compared to conventional systems); minimizing artifacts and distortions; and providing advanced dynamic range management.

Invasive interventional services at Weiss provide patients all the newest endovascular modes of treatment, including coronary angioplasty, atherectomy and stenting, and permanent pacemaker placement. 

Non-invasive services include:

• State-of-the-art stress testing modalities
• A pacemaker and AICD clinic
• A comprehensive, three-phase Cardiac Rehabilitation program with risk factor assessment and modification
• A Wellness program that includes fitness testing, nutrition counseling and individualized exercise program developed one-on-one with an exercise physiologist
• Free monthly blood pressure screenings
