Five Warning Signs of A Stroke

A stroke can happen in an instant—and you may not even know what it is. According to the American Stroke Association, there are five warning signs that can help you identify the onset of a stroke:

• Sudden numbness or weakness of the face, arm, or leg, especially on one side of the body
• Sudden confusion, trouble speaking, or understanding speech
• Sudden trouble seeing in one or both eyes
• Sudden trouble walking, dizziness or loss of balance or coordination
• A sudden, severe headache with no known cause

If you or someone with you shows any of these symptoms, call 911 or get to an emergency room right away. Immediate medical attention, especially within the first three hours of the onset of symptoms, can help reduce or even reverse brain damage.
